20 Years of Barrel Rolling by Hanafae 20 Years of Barrel Rolling by Hanafae
:star: PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NO LONGER POSTING FAN ART TO THIS ACCOUNT. Check out my StarsAndOceans account for fan art. :star:

My contribution to :iconstarfox-club: 's 20th anniversary tribute. I went for the original SNES-era color schemes for the characters. It's a bit strange to see Fox with blue eyes, he's had green eyes for so long now :D and the grey thing in the back is supposed to be an Arwing... and yes, I shamely stole the logo from google and slapped it on there XD

20 years ago today Star Fox was released on the SNES in Japan! :dummy: the first "3D" console game that would give us a taste of what the next generation of games was headed towards. Then 4 years later Star Fox 64 was the 1st to use a rumble feature! Then 5 years later Nintendo stabbed the series in the heart :dead:

You know, that just makes me feel like having tea with Peppy and basking into nostalgia and talking about the good old times :D

If you want to (If you haven't seen it already) there is a Starfox E3 teaser you can watch.

Yeah but it's pretty basic for now. We don't know anything about the story. I'm not sure Miyamoto himself knows much, as he said in an article he would like SF to be developed by a 3rd party (or something along those lines, can't remember his exact words). I'm looking forward to when we get more tangible details. But still it's nice to know it's coming :D

Yeah, I can't wait for more details as well. But for now, I can be relieved knowing that there will be a new Starfox game sometime in 2015. By the way, just out of curiosity there hasn't been word on which generation of the team it's going to be (1st gen: James McCloud 2nd gen: Fox McCloud or 3rd gen: Marcus McCloud) has there?

No word yet. Miyamoto's demo is a mock-up of sorts made with SF64 character icons and lines of speech, so he can try things out and figure out how the game could play like on Wii U. From what we know, at this stage he's focusing only on game controls and mechanics. Maybe he himself doesn't know yet what the plot is going to be about.

I for one would love it to be 1st gen :)

Yeah, I would be totally cool with whatever gen he chooses. Playing as James would give us a better picture of what he did before he disappeared, or if Miyamoto were to go with 3rd gen we would get to see some cool action from Marcus.
Speaking of 3rd gen (If Miyamoto were to go with 3rd gen) he could do a continuation from the ending in Starfox command where Marcus is born and he follows Fox's footsteps, but instead of retiring for the rest of his life, Fox would rejoin the Starfox team along with his son. Father and son fighting a war together, that I would LOVE to see. But then again, playing as James, seeing what he did before disappearing would be cool too... Like I said, I'm cool with whatever gen he chooses.

This is great! And personally, I would say the series was stabbed in the heart and gutted on the DS.

Thanks! yeah it got stabbed pretty bad. I hope they make up for it in a good way now that they've decided to revive the series :)
