  Hmm...I think it's much too dark, thus losing the vibrancy of the colors, as well as the delicate details of hairs and veins. You can lighten it up just a little so that details are more obvious, and use PS to make that sunspot glow. Purple and black are difficult colors to notice, as the human eye isn't interested in them as say, reds and yellows.
