Red-winged blackbird watching over his girlfriend who was walking on the boardwalk (literally). If I went for her I'm sure he would have pecked me to death
I hate you, lol. I keep wanting to get a picture of one of these but they keep flyin right past our yard, I'm like, stop for a minute damnnit.
Well I'll keep tryin. Do you have a telephoto lens? I sure don't. I have to work with what I have which is why I can't get good shots of birds cause they flit away the moment you want to press the button & always keep too far away when they do stop.
Please don't hate me for that! I took this one in a sort of park by a lake, that's where they're easier to find and take pictures of. If there's a lake or a swampy area with a lot of cattails growing not too far from your place, you might want to try your luck there.
I took this one with a 55-200mm telephoto lens. It's not enough to take good bird shots, unless you can get pretty close, which I was lucky enough to on this one. I'd like to get a more powerful lens, but they're so expensive
The lens that came with it is 18-55mm, that's what most have right? Yeah tell me about it, crazy expensive. I think I'm going to get a wireless remote, that should help also & it's pretty cheap for mine.
Yeah, that's the basic lens a lot of cameras come with. Actually the 55-200mm Nikon lens isn't all that expensive. It's a decent alternative to getting a real killer lens. However, like I was saying in my previous post, you need to get relatively close to the birds It's a question of what you're willing to sacrifice: shooting distance or money
Personally I stick to Nikkor lens, even though they're a bit more expensive. Especially the macro lens, there's a good price difference between the Nikkor and Sigma lenses. On the other hand, I can do non-macro shots with the Nikkor macro lens, which isn't possible with the Sigma. If you can afford it, I say go with the same brand as your camera, as it's worth the extra $$ in the end. Otherwise, I've heard excellent comments about Sigma lenses.
